Encouragement For Today

I pray  you will find encouragement today

…in that deepest part of your aching spirit. May a message of hope be found in these following verses.

Isaiah 35:1-6 The desert and the parched land will be glad: the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom: it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. …Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with a vengeance: with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. …Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.  NIV
When we are weak, dry, or thirsty--in the wilderness of pain and anguish, these verses remind us we are not alone. God promises to come, to strengthen, to steady, to save.

When I was in the midst of the worst season of my life, these verses reminded me to have hope in a brighter tomorrow. But I could not rely on the strength given yesterday to help me function today. I had to cry out each day. At times it was a moment by moment process.

Hang on to the promise…

Envision that blossom in the desert. The miracle of water gushing forth and streams flowing are not merely platitudes and insignificant metaphors, they are words of truth. God desires you see your future with hope.

As a flower burst full and vibrant from the prickly desert cactus, so shall your life emerge from this pain with something beautiful to share.
