What If the Greatest Battle You’ll Ever Fight Is the One You Cannot See?
One Woman's Journey. Every Person's Battle.
Have you ever felt like something—or someone—was watching you? Have you sensed a shadow in a fully lit room, or wondered if the challenges you face are more than just bad luck?
You're not imagining things.
There is an invisible war raging all around us. A war between light and darkness. Truth and deception. Life and death. This is the reality The Victory Series explores through the unforgettable story of Mara—a woman who starts her life as a wounded, broken child and grows to become a warrior of God.
Written straight from the heart and inspired by real-life pain and healing, this trilogy will open your eyes to spiritual warfare in a way you've never experienced before.
Why I Wrote The Victory Series
I never intended to write Christian suspense. My passion was historical romance. I had awards, a following, and a fulfilling career in that genre. But as I wrapped up my last series, the Holy Spirit clearly whispered: It's time to tell Mara's story.
Drawing from my own childhood experiences of abuse and healing, and from the very real spiritual battles I've faced in life and marriage, I wrote this series as an offering—to expose darkness, highlight God's power, and invite readers to believe in a victory they may not yet see.
Because Mara's story isn't just hers—it's ours.
📚 Book 1: Mara – The Unseen Battle
A Story of Faith and the Power of the Unseen
Set in 1970s small-town Canada, young Mara Howland tries to survive the relentless cruelty of her mother. But what she can't see is the real battle—between angels and demons—waging over her soul.
Despite the odds, Mara begins to hear whispers of another way. A way of faith. A way of hope. A way out.
"A powerful, faith-filled thriller in the vein of Frank Peretti. Turner delivers an unforgettable journey of spiritual warfare, redemption, and unshakable faith." — Creston Mapes, Bestselling Author
Highlights:
- Childhood trauma that's both gut-wrenching and redemptive
- Angelic and demonic POVs that bring Ephesians 6:12 to life
- A powerful depiction of prayer as a spiritual weapon
- A heroine you'll root for from page one
Mara doesn't just survive—she begins to believe that she's more than her past. Her journey has only begun.
📚 Book 2: Mara – In the Face of Battle
She Escaped the Darkness Once… Can She Survive It Again?
Scarred but not defeated, Mara returns to the very home that once imprisoned her. But this time, she brings with her the light of Christ and a fierce desire to save her siblings from the darkness she once endured.
With the love of Lucas—a man who sees her beauty beyond the scars—Mara embraces marriage, ministry, and new beginnings.
But the enemy is always working.
When betrayal strikes from within and her faith is almost shattered, Mara must decide: Will she give in to despair, or will she trust the God who never let her go?
Themes:
- Forgiveness in the face of heartbreaking betrayal
- Hope for healing and restoration in relationships
- The choice between bitterness and forgiveness
- The truth that God works all things for good to those that love Him.
Mara's resilience deepens, not from her own strength—but through the power of the One who called her out of darkness into His glorious light.
📚 Book 3: Maranatha – The Victory Battle
What if the Greatest Battle You'll Ever Fight Is the One You Cannot See?
Now a mother and mentor, Mara's trials haven't ended—they've escalated.
With her marriage under fire, a traumatized child thrust into her arms, through to a place where her own life hangs in the balance, Mara faces a level of spiritual warfare she's never known before. Angels are on guard. Demons are scheming. Her every decision matters.
Will she hold fast to the God she's come to know…or will fear win?
Key Moments:
- Navigating the pain of a blended family
- Confronting the enemy's attacks with faith and prayer
- Nearly losing a child—and nearly losing herself
- Embracing victory when death is at the door
This breathtaking conclusion reminds readers that we do not fight alone. The One who began the good work in Mara is faithful to complete it. And the same is true for us.
